Meet the Co-Leads

Dr. Christina ‘Chris’ Thompson (she/her/hers)

As a neurodiverse international education and equity professional and mother of an autistic non-speaking child, I co-created Supported Journeys Global to create the kind of inclusive, supported international experiences I wish existed for families like mine. I know firsthand the barriers, both visible and invisible, that keep disabled and neurodiverse individuals from accessing the world.

This organization was born out of love, lived experience, and a belief that everyone deserves the chance to explore, grow, and belong, globally and without compromise.

We aim to partner with organizations that share our values and believe that support is not a luxury, it’s a right. Our goal is to pilot Supported Journeys Global by 2026 and reimagine global education through the lens of those who are too often left out. This program is for the community, by the community, centered on lived experience, dignity, and the belief that inclusive international education is not only possible, but necessary.

Dr. Raquel Dailey

(she/her/hers)

I believe everyone deserves the chance to see the world—especially those who are so often left out of the adventure. As a mother and caregiver, I’ve witnessed how travel can feel overwhelming, even impossible, for many individuals and families. I’ve seen how the joy of exploring new cultures is often overshadowed by a lack of support, understanding, and infrastructure for travelers who need something different.

Supported Journeys Global was born from a deeply personal desire to change that. I wanted to create what I longed to find—a way for travelers with developmental differences to experience the world with confidence, dignity, and joy. Because travel shouldn’t be a privilege for the few; it should be a possibility for everyone!

Through Supported Journeys Global, we are helping to redefine what is possible for underrepresented travelers—creating a new model of "Carer Travel" that ensures every journey is supported, inclusive, and empowering.

Join Our Founding Advisory Council

We’re building something powerful, and we want you to be part of it.

Supported Journeys Global is currently accepting interest applications for our inaugural Advisory Council. If you are a person with a disability, a neurodivergent individual, or an active ally to the disability community, we invite you to help shape the future of inclusive global travel.

This will be a co-created space, grounded in community wisdom, lived experience, and equity. Together, we’ll launch this new model of supported international education, with care, courage, and collaboration.

We’ll host a virtual interest meeting in June 2025 to kick off planning.
